Amanda has always found comfort and belonging in the natural world around her. Her functional ceramics pay homage to the origins of food and the complex, often flawed systems involved in getting from the earth to our tables. Drawing inspiration from memories of her grandmother's garden and her time working on farms during college, Amanda's work reflects her deep reverance for  nature and weaves explorations of sociology, ethnobotany, and modern agricultural practices.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Central Washington University, and pursued Post-Baccalaureate study in Ceramics at the University of Montana. Amanda has served as a long term artist-in-residence at several arts organizations across the country, including The Morean Center for Clay in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Belger Crane Yard Studios in Kansas City, Missouri, and the Sonoma Community Center in Califorina. She has also been an invited artist in short term residencies at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Penland School of Craft and Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts.

Amanda had been working as a full-time studio artist for several years prior to a transition to part time accompanying a position as Administrative Coordinator at the Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project in 2023-2024. She is now on a "academic sabbatical" from her practice while completing a Masters in Arts in Museum Studies.
