This build began with the demolition of an old kiln, already sharing a chimney with the anagama on site. The new kiln was built on a newly poured cement pad and was designed to use repurposed large high alumina arch bricks for the majority of the walls. The new exit flu tapped into the existing chimney in roughly the same place as the previous kiln.
